The forum basement

The Sussex Arms

  • Hire cost: £150 (day or night)  
  • Late night hire until Midnight

The Forum Basement is our dedicated, intimate live events and performance space beneath The Sussex Arms. It’s perfect if you’re planning a ticketed event, gig, comedy night or performance. Events here can run until midnight, so it’s a great option for evening entertainment or live showcases.

Taproom & Coffee Shop

For smaller get-togethers, the Philanthropist Taproom & Coffee Shop on the historic Pantiles offers a relaxed, welcoming space for intimate parties, meetings or group celebrations. With Fonthill beers on tap, and a great selection of AF beers, wine, soft drinks, coffee, and pastries, it’s a great choice for daytime or early evening private hire.

Enquiries considered on a case-by-case basis. As busy pubs with loyal, regular customers, we are unable to offer exclusive use of the pubs and the Forum. To cover our usual operating costs and offset any bad will created, our hire fees are steep, so we always suggest people look to dedicated private hire venues should a larger space be required.
