From Community Roots to Great Beer

Fonthill Brewing Co. was born out of a love for good beer, good music, and good company. From hosting grassroots gigs in the early 90s to running some of Tunbridge Wells’ most iconic and loved pubs and venues today, everything we do is built around community, independence, and craftsmanship.

You can enjoy Fonthill beer across our venues in Tunbridge Wells. Each of our venues boasts its own personality, but all the spaced we’ve created are united by the same Fonthill spirit: they’re local, welcoming and inclusive, and full of character.

The Sussex Arms

Pub and small music Venue

Sitting just off The Pantiles, The Sussex Arms is a traditional pub with a big personality. Known for its live music, comedy nights, and quiz evenings, it’s a proper community pub where everyone feels at home. A must-visit to grab a pint of Fonthill, meet up for a chat with friends, or enjoy a night of great entertainment. The Sussex is the place to be.

The George

Brewpub

Right in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, The George is where the Fonthill story as a brewery began.

We took on the pub with the ambition of turning the historic coaching inn’s former stable block into our very own microbrewery.

Here you can find our full range of fresh beers made on site, alongside great food, and good times. With regular events and a bustling atmosphere, the George is a lively, welcoming pub… everything a great local should be.

The Philanthropist

Café and Bar in Tunbridge Wells

Located right in the centre of the Upper Walk of the Pantiles – ‘the Phil’ is our outpost in the town’s bustling historic heart.

Opened by us in 2024 as a coffee shop, it now serves Fonthill beer as well as wine, spirits and soft drinks from morning until late.

The Philanthropist brings together the best of café culture and craft beer. From morning coffees to evening drinks, it’s a relaxed spot to unwind, catch up, or people-watch over a pint of Fonthill.

The Forum

Music and Arts Venue

What started it all — The Forum is our iconic grassroots music venue, built from a derelict council building back in 1993. It remains at the heart of Tunbridge Wells’ creative scene, hosting live music, comedy, and spoken word. A true independent spirit. (Best enjoyed with a Fonthill pint in hand.)

The Fonthill Taproom

Function Room in Tunbridge Wells

Our taproom, set within the brewery’s stable block at The George, is now available for private events. It’s an intimate, characterful space — perfect for gatherings, celebrations, or corporate evenings with freshly brewed beer just a few feet away.

From Our Brewery to You

Each of the Fonthill venues tells a part of our story, but the beer we craft is the thread that ties it all together. Discover what we’re brewing next or find out how to get Fonthill beer on your taps.
